At Two Birds Church, our Committee Leaders play a vital role in organizing and running various volunteer groups that enrich our community life. These dedicated individuals help expand the services offered by our church, ensuring that we meet the diverse needs of our growing spiritual family.

Committee Leaders are the driving force behind initiatives such as our Little Birds committee, which organizes children’s events, and our Connection Committee, which manages our social media presence. As we continue to grow, we’re always open to forming new committees to address emerging needs and interests within our community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and leading volunteer groups for specific church initiatives
  • Planning and executing events or programs relevant to their committee’s focus
  • Coordinating with other church leaders and committees to ensure smooth operations
  • Recruiting and managing volunteers within their committee
  • Reporting progress and challenges to the Church Director and Board
  • Proposing new ideas to expand and improve their committee’s services

Requirements for this volunteer position reflect its importance in our community:

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Active membership in Two Birds Church for at least one year
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work well in a team and motivate volunteers
  • Commitment to the church’s mission and values
  • Dedication to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in event planning or volunteer management
  • Expertise relevant to the specific committee (e.g., childcare experience for Little Birds, social media skills for the Connection Committee)
  • Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions
  • Experience in community building and fostering group dynamics

Committee Leaders typically commit to serving for a minimum of one year, with the opportunity for continued involvement and growth within our community.

When Committee Leader positions open, we follow a careful selection process:

  • Application review by the Church Board and relevant church leaders
  • Interviews to assess leadership skills and alignment with our values
  • A trial period to ensure a good fit for both the individual and the committee

Our Committee Leader training includes:

  • Orientation to church policies and procedures
  • Leadership and volunteer management workshops
  • Specific training relevant to their committee’s focus
  • Regular check-ins with the Church Board for guidance and support

We encourage our Committee Leaders to engage in continuous learning and personal growth, including:

  • Attending relevant workshops or seminars
  • Participating in church events outside their committee’s focus
  • Collaborating with other Committee Leaders to share best practices

At Two Birds Church, our Committee Leaders are the heart of our community initiatives. Their dedication, creativity, and leadership skills help us create a vibrant, supportive, and diverse spiritual community. As we continue to grow, we’re always excited to welcome new leaders who can help us expand our services and enrich the lives of our members.
